I ditched wordpresss and you should, too!

everything runs on numbers now. It works, I can drag and drop it anywhere I want. I prefer it like this. I don't mind showing my face, but not in combination with my name and with that pretty much all of my other information. It's useless to maybe perhaps my bank and government but why on earth would I want to freely give up my privacy? At all?
I've been without a music provider often finding myself just using
bandcamp.
here It's easy to search for specific genres and it is easily shared. I picked up on it when I was without a computer and iTunes/music for a good while and by now I've gotten used to it.
For now, I'm focussing on political satire instead of indecipherable complicated concepts make something easy to grasp and less intrusive.

o for the longest time in like, forever have I been brewing stories which in time became quite the series spanning al least a couple of episodes yet it failed horribly because there was no consitency and the work-load sucked. It is such a hassle to scan everything down accordingly and then clean up and do separations before you even begin to think about adding colors it is too late to finish it within the day.
Inspiration comes at weird moments, though...
So when this dropped it was a surprise to me too. I knew it was going to pay off eventually but here in the moment, right now, no i wasn't expecting that and now i don't dont know what to say or put as information.
*sigh*
After this, things become so technical and very boring!
All you 'have to do' is grabbing renders the whole act of turning those into comics is just extra work. Another thing is because I really don't have a clue to make them have their own language. I'm sure A.I. could assist in that. That's and I don't want to fall into franchiose and tropes. At this point I'm not sure if I am even going to attempt at a comic series. I just don't know if i should. The alien language is an idea though. But if there's a story involved it turns into a product and I wanted to steer clear of that.
The setup was slow but once you have some characters and basic grid for stacking bricks I can get back to building. I don't enjoy writing or connecting it to a specific story it's kinda obtrusive i know visuals probably already tell their own little stories.
about the LEGO project and new layout
I
wanted for the boredom caused by the sheer uselessness of what the computer-experience had become to quit, and have at least one thing to my name so it becomes fun again. It will also puts an end to endless ‘what if?’ speculation regarding 3D modelling. There’s nothing out there I that interests me and the whole social media thing just don’t fly for me. I do however, want to feature at least one simple thing, and be at one single service like Pinterest or Instagram which is aimed at images not texts/messaging or video. I had a simple list with complaints which turned into a mission statement/manifest.
The list means I knew where to start which meant deleting wordpress and all other ‘services’ elsewhere to remain with one single domain and project that lights me up instead of bringing me down whenever I grab a Mac. Parallel to this I want to still keep the anonimity, so the site features at best some behind-the-scenes photography (!) but is dedicated to only the LEGO project but nothing with my real name or face. It was a hassle but I finished it, step by step, in little over a few weeks. Then setting up the LEGO grid surprisingly took me only a day or two. Logicly i wanted to document the process because it will grow in time. The following is a list of what I came up with/needed from site. The all-new system provides everything wordpress does, but without a database so it can be easily migrated elsewhere when that becomes a thing, which at some point, it will:
1) use hashtag (#) to point to earlier content content
2) custom style for images/photos (removing the footer and title)
3) image attachment bar underneath the message which swipes left when needed
4) last saved/pusblich meta data in footer
5) social links in footer
6) music from bandcamp
7) use no database only the ‘include’ function (thanks Q.!)
8) using no database and relative paths so the system is mobile
9) put the thing to use and start building the LEGO grid
* optionally show (related) RSS news-feeds
This solves the need for music without ads, meaning the situation over at YouTube.
DAY 3 - where we pass a point of no return
T
he file hosted on the mini where it can read the textures too. Textures are used to generate the mountains and hills as well as faces and stickers. Without it is just a bit too monotonous. It is an error where the copied file can’t read or find , not a mistake on my end. The answer was to simply ‘plant’ it in /Documents folder. You never work in both Blender and Photopea at the same time. It doesn’t matter because one can have the file open while i work on details/stickers on the laptop. , load that file instead of local (obscure) file. Kind of like a server where all laptops connect to a single file.
I have thought about streaming but the whole point was to have just one thing in order to quit the rest. The ‘rest’ being youtube X/Twitter and well, pinterest and pretty much everything else that is connected to me personally. I dont like it i dont need it and it makes me feel bad about things i normally dont even think about. Its clearly influencing me and. I just wanted something that makes me go ‘ah yeah! Let’s go!’ instead of the annoyed grunt each morning. To have one thing to my name that is good and has plenty of content. Which kind of also means the end to writing, it would also be so damn use of machinery otherwise. I want one place to establish that
a) derp i can make a website
b) i don;t simply control a computer i can do something which i can not in reality
c) makes me go ‘ah yea’ instead of ‘oh no’ whenever i am using the (just default) Apple setup
d) create a steady flow of content
There are no benefits to using services and it never pays out. There are no results.
Another thing is that all of the articles that has nothing to do with the lego project are purged so i can migrate the site to whatever title it is going to grow. I don’t want to just put lego and as easy as the lego thing itself coming up with a title is more difficult. Luckily the site doesnt cinnect to a database i always seem to lose those. I can just drag and drop it wherever i want. There won’t be any link left to my name.
i never had something completely fleshed out down to the point where i could even start thinking about which feeds to pick and where to go for the series. This is going to be the focus for the future and sticking wth one thing mean it needs to fun a year from now and a few years after that as well. Making sure it hits the right audience is something to . X/Twitter is one, instagram is too, if there weren’t the only ones it gets too complicated and a drag. Playing with legos is fun. Managing and maintaining social media is not. X/Twitter has the best ‘images tab’ so i stuck with that. Instagram is the main base of operation because its main thing is images, and the lego thing is a very visual venture.
at times i was skeptical if it was going to work out as some parts require more than just basic knowledge. The legs are where you cut out a cilinder out of a cilinder which was tough to materialize but i reverse engineered it. The base 1x1 brick being the generator of the default scale the diameter had to match up perfectly with the node on top. The characters add a layer of fun and life to the whole thing. If i had first done the population I would have had no reference to see whether its scale and proportions would hold up later in the process. You pass like a point of no return where you have to make double-sure what I am doing under the bridge with the free-party and the train still matches up to the apartment complex. I got it done though. Down to the very stickers and textures. It is fun to work on.
i am not allergic to becoming active its just there is no incentive and i wo
is it called beta? Or alpha build? Whatever the answer is, the build, then, is (more or less) done! There will always be tweaks and modifications anyway, but at least it has reached a level where others are able to see it in context without any explanation. The very last straws are always hard but without actual… figurines? Brick men? People? Citizens? Population!
Without population like in the train scene it’s all so empty. I always keep an eye in the #news so when i did the tekno-sound-system set #yesterday the ongoing rave in france’s Best caught my attention. With a lot of population
the first thing is to do a janirot
there is the apartment, the train itself and the party under the bridge which all in all is just a bit too much in one go even though i happy with the results. it sets the tone. you can’t hoewever work on three scenes at the same time and i need sleep.

he iphone now uses the responsive layout which removes the image on the left effectively ‘logging out’ of LEGO world. This is important to me so I fixed it. Right now, it is, but i can see a time when i need the page for other things again, and the LEGO thing becomes just a pull-down tab in the menu again. Most likely it will be painting by the looks of it, or perhaps more photography or a mix of both. Whatever is having everything set to LEGO makes other subject matter look silly broken and out of place. The homepage will feature fullscreen video again, or the parallax will, whatever the case I don't want to mess up the neat markup i have going on.
Peachy keen!.
It is certainly the most rewarding thing i have done in a while,
like i already said no matter what you do you always gaing something no matter how small it is, it is still progress which is something that other endeavors lack. I don’t enjoy growing a following. Is there even such a thing? Isn’t it more like if you have it, you have it and you get there anyway. The same as you don’t ‘make moments’. You share a moment, but it is special and so we give the name:
moment. There’s something… off about using the phrase ‘making new moments’. Perhaps it refers to some software-action i am oblivious of.
To answer your question about themes: I have no plans to follow any other theme other than my own. I don’t play games it follow any of the bigger franchises meaning I wouldn’t know which type of game or specific title is particularly good addition and i don't do what's it called again
submissions? I find i never really run out of ideas. I just sometimes grow tired of it and i leave it for a bit. Lately I have been doing some work in the morning as those are just the worst and i never knew what to do. I just knew i progreesivly started to hate everything about the whole experience.
I’ve always had a computer just for sheer fun, but I never
needed one, or a specific game to run like so many other seem to do. I can just be away for weeks at a time and at times I really get into it and there’s no routine or something. The city scape as it is right now was build over time, not overnight or over a weekend and then retired. It is being added on all the time, as a means to steer away from whatever it is
the occasional movie, some series if i find any. I don’t just ‘binge’ just to have something to watch. I prefer books.
There’s something I don’t know… off about it. Why would you promote some else’s product? I get it, it’s a fan thing, probably, but it never made much sense to me to completely follow one particular idea or setting.
I said it earlier it just becomes window shopping at that point you’re just collecting bricks that fit within a scene. I like building the thing myself as soon as i have to follow a manual it loses its appeal.
such as well i don’t know, just pick a franchise. I’ve seen lots and lots of people come up with ‘fallout’ shelters entirely dedicated jurassic park even though that is cheating as it already exists.
There’s no affilate links as to where you can buy LEGO as i dont buy any LEGOs myself at all (that was more or less the starting point) so therefore I dont know about scalpers even though there seem to be more than enough ways to get your bricks no matter if you need a single one or a hundred or a million.
infinity and beyond
S
till busy with the main intersection where the train enters the tunnel. There’s things that don’t make sense in certain sets that i’ll just leave out. Even if i try to follow the manuals exactly i still end up with my own thing because it's faster and more fun.
LEGO uses certain standards for sizes of for example the tracks that you can never change so all models are stuck at a fixed width, which takes up more space. I’m pretty sure there’s some end-consumer para-psychology behind it but that does not apply so I made it more narrow while maintaining the ability to put figurines (?) in it.
As far as for the color scheme there’s some emphasis on monotony: it is after all a parody of modern life and i wanted to touch on the slightly critical view.
I have also come across the
speed builds are all you need if you are stuck on something, i dont see the need to hoard coious ammounts of lego models. I just enjoy the digital design process more because of its infinite possibilities.
Another thing that has occured to me is that because of its meditative nature I started to calm down and no longer spend hours upon hours watching and reading the most random topics, unaimed and without some end-game in sight. It wore me out. Because i no longer use internet like i used to i don’t get targeted anymore by intrusive commercials. Ads have always been a bit louder and i don’t mean the few decibel with intrusive I mean its choice of topics even when there’s no history on the system in the cloud or something else on which it could be.
I guess its the new normal that after each song someone comes up to you and asks your if you want pizza and whether or not you have are going to shave your private parts, efeectively looping the ad instead of a single song. Even that has changed and after a few plays it just… skips to another song/video. I just don’t get it anymore. So I left. It has its benefits.
i cant exist in a vacuum so there’s some logic in having an instagram feed, yet I don’t want it to co-exist on a platform amongst drugs sex and murder which quicly excludes X/Twitter. I know these things happen and these topics exist but I don't want to have it shoved into my face each time I log on. I find no joy in updates as its just adding the file with little meta or additions. There is no point in giving it too much attention besides the usual avatar and banner i keep it clean and dedicated to just the LEGO project without any deviations where you just pick a franchise and follow that theme. The ‘theme’ is just a bit more real than most sets.
Another thing is which I have seen in pretty much every fanatic build, is that the ‘city’ has an airport a train-station and other which is highly unlikely that all of that would excist with a square kilometer. Its scale doesn’t seem realistic.
Last and least is I have finally worked out a system to replace to wordpress so i can just drag and drop the site anywhere i want andnot have to deal with by now bloated and indecipherable mess that the wordpress platform has become. I never really liked it anyway as its just as easy to simply save a file. I never really needed any of its advanced features and it is way over-priced and it has too fallen victim to shoppification. It has no financial incentive, is that against the rules or something?
Of all layout i have tried i like nothing as much as my own thing. I;ve tried programming i dont even consider it programming, though technicly
it is.

ost of the internet has become a shop and it has become more intrusive on a schedule so it seems. This same...
entity that brings me my food if it is raining now wants to know if I shave my balls. I don't want to be stir up any drama but this is where i draw the line.
When it was decided having a name linked to what you say I said 'ok, fair enough'. When that was 'what do you look like' I was reluctant but I said 'why not, I'm a photographer!' and I can imagine someone wanting to connect it to a face to make the experience more human. In time this became more of a identity check which again I can totally understand. Of course my bank wants to make sure it's really me. O just never got used to seeing my face all the time whatever I do, i still think there is value in anonomity. I understand it has become just television and lately there's a running ad campaign promoting male hygiene, which is where i simply quit youtube, and soon after pretty much
again decided to to black. There's no real friendships and none of whom I have met 'of the internet' really stuck around even though New York is just a flight away you simply don't share each other's environment you drift away kind of move on and lose contact. Everybody is always welcome all the time but if you already decided youtube and fame is not for you one can simply cancel out most of whatever meetups could occur slowly eroding the social landscape where it
dog eat dog mentality which is more toxic than its beneficial. There's only so many that can truly dominate a certain domain at some point and even weblogs encounter some point in time where everything you wanted to say has been said by which I also mean you have made up your mind about topics it's not something that you think about every time you have breakfast. At least I don't. Do you?
There's something uncanny, almost robotical which only makes sense but it has become more and more soulless in a way i could never just lay my finger on. The talking head format is rampant and a plethora of similar content is all you. The format is lazy because all you have to which lead to streamers . It's 'culture' and the has become something I no longer find interesting. I left a while ago to pursue a more nomadic lifestyle because I wanted to see more of the world while I still can rather than put it off and wait until i have time but no energy anymore. I've been literally offline in the sense I kept my telephone in my backpack most of the time I'd be talking to people or attending shows. I have my phone but I never did anything with it besides empty the camera roll. Now what I find is literally not how I recall and there's little space of mutual as there is nothing i can add to furry culture. I know my sexual preference which is not changing every month. I don't play games at all I just never bothered with it after going Mac, i never bothered. To me things are pretty simple. I have but one email-address no other other accounts beyond that as only the bank connects to it. What I mean is i never got into the social media game and there was never something that hooked me soon after i decided it was just more television and in many ways it's worse than that. It's become pure garbage and you really go out of your way to not be running into sex profanity and other illicit subjects on an increasing basis.
'You must certainly differentiate bewteen what you look up one way or the other it's split up by financial incentive' Michael answers. You other want to make money of something which alters your whole perception and there for tone of voice! These are two seperate things!'. Weblogs indeed aren't really weblogs if all they do is archive whichever acrticle was in whatever magazine at some point. It's not a column anymore which i believe at some point it was.
In a lot of ways it doesn't touch me so it doesn't cause any problems. Movies are movies there's little that you can change about its format I feel that add something to it that would be unobtrusive. I still wonder when we'll have a display that displays my bank-account instead of the weather, an all in one immersive desktop but it seems it got stuck in the what you can and cannot say and endless regulations which has come down to a complete halt. There's is nothing truly 'cyber' about any of it, really.
This year's research seminar with Tom Vandeputte returns to the question
how critique may be understood today. We consider the history of the concept, tracing its key transformations and reinterpretations over the course of the twentieth century, and discuss what it might mean to think of critique as a ‘theoretical practice’. Special attention will be paid to the negativity at stake in critical inquiry, as well as the question how we might understand its inventive and imaginative elements.
